A primary storage device is quite smaller in size and it is designed to capture or hold data for a temporary period. Primary storage often referred to simply as memory is the only one directly accessible to the CPU. Example is RAM and Cache memory.
A Secondary storage differs from primary storage in it is not directly by the CPU. The device can be both External and Internal to computer and includes; Hard-Disk, USB Drive, etc.
Off Line Storage:
Offline storage is used to transfer information, since the detached medium can be easily physically transported. Offline storage is a computer data storage on a medium or device that not under the control of a processing unit.
